South African Out of Home Media taken to new LIGHTS

Johannesburg, 9 December 2009. After decades of global landmarks like Times Square and Piccadilly Circus drawing the world's attention, Sandton is finally set to join the ranks of these global icons. Sunset Media, an electronic outdoor technology firm representing Europe's leading LED technology brand, Imago, has concluded an agreement with Legacy Group to erect the first large scale wrap around outdoor LED screen in Africa.

Together with Legacy, Sunset Media is constructing a giant 140m2 digital LED screen on the corner of the coveted Legacy Corner Development in the heart of Sandton's shopping district. Legacy Corner is the latest gem in the Legacy Group's crown that recently commanded R50 million rand for a penthouse in one of Sandton’s largest apartment deals.

The development is also home to Sandton CBD’s Marco Polo Gaming and Entertainment Venue featuring 300 electronic Bingo terminals, as well as enjoying two  retail floors, restaurants and a commanding position on the premiere landmark in Sandton, Nelson Mandela Square. The DaVinci Hotel, on Legacy Corner, is Legacy Hotels and resorts fourth hotel and development on the Square and further compliments Legacy’s holistic lifestyle experience on offer. The Da Vinci will be home to FIFA delegates during 2010, and is also likely to host one of the finalists for the 2010 World cup, showing the true global acceptance of Legacy Corner as THE place to be in South Africa.
